Nadi Town Area Guide
Nadi is a great place to use as a home base for exploring due to it's central location. Nadi airport is where you will most likely fly into. Most tours like the Garden of the Sleeping Giant, Mud pools, Nadi markets or island tours start from here. Just 8km down the road from the main Nadi Town is Port Denarau Marine (Island), you'll find island boat trips, restaurants, shops and more here.
Nadi town is a must see for local shopping and food, with the latest Hindi or Fijian music playing from every storefront. There are a few restaurants and cafes with more upmarket options at Denarau Marina. Boat transfers to the islands go from Port Denarau Marina. It's well worth getting a local tour guide to take you around Nadi Town. The main shopping center starts at the bridge that crosses the Nadi river, and goes for around 1 mile before ending at the Sri Siva Subramaniya temple. You will find banks and ATMs for both Westpac and ANZ (withdrawal limits from the ATM is $1000 FJD), as well as several Vodafone and Digicel shops, cloths, shoes and souvenir shops by the dozen, Supermarkets, chemist, jewellery, hardware, restaurants and small fast food outlets.
